Highlights of Mendoza
Of course we are willing to show you some of the highlights of Mendoza.
These highlights are part of our history, so they are part of our lives. However, Mendoza Greeters also want to show the things that you will not find in a guidebook or that are hard to discover if you are just wandering about.
Despite Mendoza is a desert town, acequias (irrigation ditches) run beside every street, charming fountains adorn every main plaza and the immense San Martin Park, all work day and night to make it a green city.
The city really sparkles at night, when bars, restaurants and cafes along Arístides Avenue fill up and spread over to the sidewalks.
Mendoza is synonymous of wine, here is where you want to be if you’re up for touring the vineyards.
The Andes are part of Mendoza, they are like a great wall to the west of the city. Just outside the city on the way to The Andes, you can Find Chacras de Coria, a very nice suburban are full of boutique hotels, restaurants, cafes & ample residences. Further to the west, you can find Vistalba, Cacheuta & Potrerillos. On Potrerillos lake, where Mendoza river pours, many water sports are practiced. Going up the Andes you find many places of amazing natural beauty. One is Vallecitos an old ski resort where all-year-round people from all over the world do mountain activities and trekking.
